Poulter shines again at the WGC Accenture Match Play Championships

Ian WGC Ian had every right to smile as he easily secured his place in the semi finals. After an extremely long week including snow delays and 22 hole thrillers, Poulter proved once again that he is the King of match play. With impressive victories over Steven Gallacher, Bo Van Pelt, Tim Clark and Steve Stricker, Ian raced into the final 8. His play over the opening days was incredible and his name was on everybody’s lips all week. Unfortunately he couldn’t quite keep up his outstanding form on the final day and lost 4&3 to Hunter Mahan, another one of the World’s best match play players. Having taken 6 weeks off to work on his game, Poulter showed no signs of being rusty as this result moved him back into the World’s top 10. His next event is the WGC Cadillac Championship at Doral, Miami, which starts on the 7th March.
